Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol works a pair of traffic crashes Thursday, including one fatality crash.
The fatality crash took place in Stone County on Highway M south of the Christian County line Thursday evening when the driver of a pick-up truck attempted to make a left turn as a motorcycle was coming the other way. The driver of the motorcycle attempted to avoid the collision and overturned and slit into the pickup.
The motorcycle driver, a 66-year-old Nixa man, died at the scene while the pick-up truck driver, an 85-year-old man from Nixa, was not injured.
Two people on a motorcycle were injured in an earlier crash in Taney County near Kissee Mills. The MSHP report indicates that a motorcycle traveling on Highway 160 failed to navigate a curve and overturned.
The driver, a 67-year-old man from Asbury, sustained serious injuries while the passenger, a 65-year-old Carl Junction woman, sustained moderate injuries. Both were treated at Springfield Hospitals
