A vehicle that was reported stolen in Stone County in January is recovered late last week after a high-speed pursuit in Greene County.
According to the probable cause statement from Greene County, the Chevy Tahoe that the Stone County Sheriff’s Office reported stolen from Galena was spotted at Grand and Madison Streets in Springfield. When officers attempted to make a traffic stop the vehicle, driven by Christian Bentz, took off eastbound on Grand Street and exceeded speeds of 90 MPH in Springfield and eventually continued eastbound until the car went off the road on Highway OO near Strafford, when Bentz was eventually taken into custody along with a passenger in the car.
Bentz if facing several charges including being in possession of stolen items as well as drug possession and for dangerous driving during the pursuit.
