The Lakes Region will continue to experience a warm-up in February.
Since Winter Storm Fern hit the Lakes Region on January 24 and 25 bringing several inches of snow and below zero temperatures, the Lake Region has been in a general warming trend with an occasion return to colder air. That warming trend took a big upward trend on Sunday with highs getting into 60s with temperatures getting into the 70s over the next couple of days.
There is a chance of rain in the forecast Tuesday night ahead of a front that will cool temperatures down, but highs will only drop into the 50s the rest of the week which is still above normal for February. Low temperatures are not expected to drop below freezing for the next seven days.
Weather forecasters are warning of an Elevated Fire Risk today with warm dry air combining with gusty winds to make conditions possible for fire expansion.
