As the New Year begins, the National Weather Service revises its high temperature predictions plus adds a slight chance of rain for the first few days of 2026.
Forecast highs for this New Year’s Day could reach the 60s in parts of the Lakes Region. A frontal system will move through the region early Friday morning bringing in a slight chance of rain and drop temperatures back into the 50s. NWS does expect overnight lows Saturday into Sunday to dip below freezing, but the following five days will see a warm-up with possible highs reaching into the 70s.
Except for Friday morning, no rain is in the forecast during this period.
