With conditions already dry due to over a month without rain for many in the Lakes Region, another factor will elevate the fire risk today.
According to the National Weather Service, gusts of up to 35 MPH are possible during the day with the dry conditions making outdoor burning dangerous. Many areas still have burn bans in place.
Wednesday will continue to be windy ahead of a cold front that will bring much needed rain in addition to cooler temperatures to the region by Thursday.
