Applications are being accepted by the Western Taney County Fire Protection District for their recruitment class, according to a post on the agency's Facebook Page.

Basic Firefighter Recruit Class

Western Taney County Fire Protection District is currently accepting applications for our upcoming recruit class.

Class begins December 1, 2023

Stop by our office at 221 Jefferson Road in Branson to pick up your application. Limited seats are available, and slots fill up quickly. The deadline to apply is November 10, 2023.

Along with giving back to your community, joining the Western Taney Fire District family also offers the following benefits:

· Stipend for each call you respond to

· Free gym membership

· Employee Assistance Program

Western Taney County Fire District also offers the opportunity for qualified individuals to live full time in a fire station. The department provides single and multi-room apartment style accommodations for firefighters in exchange for responding to emergency calls. (Some restrictions apply, ask for details when you pick up your application.)

  • Hollister Schools Foundation donates $4,000 for Therapy Dog

    The Hollister Schools Foundation has presented a $4,000 check to the Hollister R-V School District, funds raised during last spring’s "Coins for a Cause" fundraiser. The generous donation will be used to help purchase two therapy dogs for the district, set to debut at the start of the 2025-2026 school year. The check was presented to Superintendent Dr. Brian Wilson and Assistant Superintendent of District Operations, Dr. Sean Woods, by foundation board members Katie Adams, Ryan Gdovin, and Denise Olmstead.
