WASHINGTON, – A former Arkansas governor is now engaged in international diplomacy.
The U.S. Senate confirmed the former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee as ambassador to Israel in a Wednesday vote. The 53-46 vote was generally along party lines, with the lone Democrat, Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pennsylvania), voting in favor of confirmation.
Huckabee was the 44th governor of Arkansas and father of current Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders. He was nominated for the ambassador role shortly after President Donald Trump took office.
