A man who's wife disappeared and was later found dead is now charged with her murder.
According to court documents filed last week, Joel Bremer of Kansas City is in the Christian County Jail on a $220,000 Bond. Bremer's wife Ronna disappeared in December of 1988 from her home in Ozark. In 1991, a skull was sent to the Greene County Sheriff's office but was not identified as remains of Ronna Bremer until 10 years later.
The case drew national attention including from the documentary program "Cold Case" until last week, when the Christian County Sheriff's office arrested Joel Bremer after a Grand Jury indicted him on her murder and the murder of her unborn child. Ronna Bremer was seven months pregnant when she disappeared according to court documents.
Bremer has previous been in prison due to Sex Abuse charges he pled guilty to in 2001.
In an arraignment hearing last week, Joel Bremer pled Not Guilty to the Murder Charges and will next appear in court this Thursday.
