Arvest Foundation Donate to Harrison City Park

Wonder Willa Park has received an upgrade thanks to a $7,200 grant from the Arvest Foundation.

The grant was announced recently and resulted in the installation of security cameras at the park, an inclusive children’s playground that was completed in May 2020. The park was first proposed in 2018 by Arvest associate Tiffany Watkins, who was then incoming president of the Rotary Club of Harrison. Watkins “bold goal” was to develop a park where all children can play despite any physical limitations and do so in conjunction with the club’s 100th anniversary.

“This project has meant a lot to the people of Harrison since it was proposed and we can’t thank the Arvest Foundation enough for the recent grant,” Harrison mayor Jerry Jackson says in a press release issued by the Arvest Foundation. “The security cameras provide an extra layer of safety and will help ensure that Wonder Willa Park remains a fantastic place for our children to enjoy for years to come.”

Scott Tennyson, Community Bank President for Harrison, says in the release that the grant demonstrates the foundation’s ongoing commitment to children in Harrison and its surrounding areas.

“While this is just one of many donations the Arvest Foundation has made throughout our region, it feels a little extra-special to help protect such an amazing community resource,” Tennyson said. “We all know our children are our future and we want to do everything we can to improve their lives. We believe this grant does just that, along with contributing to the overall quality of life for all those who call Harrison home.”
