Branson Parks & Recreation Announces Two Family Bonding Events on February 8th

Two family events are coming up this February, according to the city of Branson.

(BRANSON, MO, January 7, 2025)  The Branson Parks & Recreation Department is excited to host two memorable events, Father Daughter DiscoGLOW Dance Party and Mom and Son Rock-N-Roller Skate Party, on Saturday, February 8, 2025, celebrating the special connections between parents and their children. Families are invited to take part in these unique experiences, designed to create lasting memories in a fun and welcoming atmosphere.

 The Father Daughter DiscoGLOW Dance Party will light up the evening at the Branson RecPlex, located at 1501 Branson Hills Parkway. This black light dance party is the perfect way for dads and daughters to bond while enjoying a night of glow-tastic fun! From 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., this event promises a night full of upbeat tunes from our live DJ “All That Music”, blacklight lighting, fun games, face painting, and delicious food and drinks. Come dressed in your most glowing outfits to shine all night long!

 Earlier in the day, the Mom and Son Rock-N-Roller Skate Party will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at SkateWorld, located at 100 Truman Drive. This high-energy roller-skating event offers moms and sons the chance to skate together, participate in exciting games, and enjoy a delicious pizza lunch. Whether seasoned skaters or beginners, all participants are welcome to join in the fun and create meaningful memories on wheels.

 Space is limited for both events, so be sure to pre-register to reserve your spot for these fun-filled events. Registration can be completed in person at the Branson RecPlex or online at https://secure.rec1.com/MO/branson-mo/catalog. The cost is $12 per person.

The previous record under alternative methods was a 2-pound, 2-ounce fish also caught from Lake Taneycomo in 2022.

  • Hollister Schools Foundation donates $4,000 for Therapy Dog

    The Hollister Schools Foundation has presented a $4,000 check to the Hollister R-V School District, funds raised during last spring’s "Coins for a Cause" fundraiser. The generous donation will be used to help purchase two therapy dogs for the district, set to debut at the start of the 2025-2026 school year. The check was presented to Superintendent Dr. Brian Wilson and Assistant Superintendent of District Operations, Dr. Sean Woods, by foundation board members Katie Adams, Ryan Gdovin, and Denise Olmstead.
