An update on bridge work taking place in the Lakes Region.
The work on the Highway 14 Bridge over West Sugarloaf Creek is scheduled to be completed today.
According to the Arkansas Department of Transportation, the bridge was reduced to one-lane last week due to an emergency repair that was needed after an issue was discovered during a recent inspection.
The bridge has remained open but down to one lane during the work. ARDOT Officials expect the work to be completed and the bridge back open by the end of the day according to their release.
Meanwhile, the Arkansas Department of Transportation reminds motorists that the Little Golden Gate Bridge over Table Rock Lake at Beaver is closed during the week.
According to the release issued in late August, workers are doing a planned retrofit of the stringers on the bridge. The bridge closures are scheduled for Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with the bridge to be fully opened Friday through Sunday and also opened during major events scheduled in the region.
