C of O Veterans Ceremonies Friday, Flight of Faith Performances Continue

The College of the Ozarks will have a ceremonies coming up on Veterans Day while the performances of "A Flight to Faith" play will continue into next week.

The release from the college is below:

College of the Ozarks will honor Veterans with numerous events and ceremonies during the week of and prior to Veteran’s Day, Friday, Nov. 11, 2022. The public is invited to attend all events listed, free of charge.

Veterans Day Sunrise Service– (Nov. 11., 7 a.m.) A sunrise, flag raising ceremony will take place at the heart of campus by Williams Memorial Chapel and the Alumni Memorial.

The Missouri Vietnam Veterans Memorial Reading of the Names – (Nov. 11, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.) The names of The Missouri Vietnam Veterans Memorial, located at the entrance of the College of the Ozarks campus, will be read by C of O students, staff, and faculty. All are welcome to visit the memorial and pause for a moment of quiet reflection.

Patriotic Play “A Flight to Faith” – In honor of Veterans week, multiple showings of this complimentary play will be performed in The Keeter Center’s Royal Oak Forum at College of the Ozarks.

“A Flight to Faith: The Story of a Vietnam P.O.W.” is a riveting and true story that chronicles the journey of an American hero, Colonel John Clark. The play is produced and performed by students at College of the Ozarks. The showing of a patriotic play is a fall tradition at College of the Ozarks. Performances are free and open to the public. Tickets are not required; seating is first-come, first-served.

The generous donation will be used to help purchase two therapy dogs for the district, set to debut at the start of the 2025-2026 school year. The check was presented to Superintendent Dr. Brian Wilson and Assistant Superintendent of District Operations, Dr. Sean Woods, by foundation board members Katie Adams, Ryan Gdovin, and Denise Olmstead.
