A Boil Advisory has been issued by the City of Branson after a water main break injures a pair of construction personnel working on the Downtown Streetscape Project.
The statements on the water main break and the boil advisory with maps are below:
At approximately 2:33 p.m. this afternoon, emergency responders were dispatched to a construction site at the intersection of Sycamore Street and Main Street after contractors experienced a water main break. Two contractor employees were injured during the incident and were transported by ambulance to local hospitals for treatment. Their conditions are being monitored.
The City of Branson Utilities Department immediately mobilized crews to assess the damage and begin repairs. Work is underway to restore service as quickly and safely as possible. Water service has been disrupted in portions of the community, and residents and businesses in the affected areas—including Lucia Ridge, Eiserman, Downtown, and the area near the hospital—are under a precautionary boil water advisory until further notice. This advisory means any water used for drinking, cooking, or food preparation should be boiled for at least three minutes before use.
City officials are coordinating closely with contractors, emergency personnel, and health authorities to ensure both public safety and the restoration of critical services. Updates will be provided as additional information becomes available.
The City of Branson appreciates the community’s patience and understanding as crews work diligently to complete the necessary repairs and return water service to normal operations.
The City of Branson has issued a precautionary boil advisory for customers in the areas shown on the maps below who experienced low water pressure or a temporary outage from the recent downtown water main break.
Bring water to a rolling boil for at least 3 minutes before drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or making ice.
Bottled water is also fine to use.
Discard any ice made during this time.
This is a routine precaution after water main breaks. Test results will confirm water quality within the next two days, and we’ll notify the community as soon as the advisory is lifted.
