City of Branson Sees Results from Improved Business Relations

According to a press release from the City of Branson, Planning & Development Department is seeing positive results from its efforts to improve the process to open a business, build a business, or remodel an existing business.

As of September 2022, the Department has an estimated value of $40,433,921 in new business development, with several large prospective businesses that are eyeing Branson to open unique business ventures. This success is a direct result of the positive improvements the Department has made which include the following:

A new customer service area inside City Hall with public computers and dedicated staff to help with the process.
Promoting Open for Business, a free service that consists of representatives from various city departments who meet with business owners to discuss and resolve technical issues affecting proposed business development.
A new focus on collaboration and customer service has strengthened relationships, opened lines of communication and improved friendliness.
These efforts have created a friendly and collaborative environment which has made it easier for new and existing businesses to build and operate in Branson. Businesses and developers are also noticing the improvements.

"It was a pleasure to work with the City of Branson to plan and build the new Cheddar's restaurant,” said Boen Kemp Construction’s Brett Kemp.

Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, located at 2935 W. 76 Country Blvd., received its certificate of occupancy from the City on August 24, 2022, and is slated to open to the public by the middle of September.

“I've worked in several different towns and states and this, hands down, has been my best experience dealing with a city. We appreciate you all working with us so well and look forward to doing more projects here in the future. I would give you the highest rating possible,” Kemp said.
