Branson's "Report-An-Issue" website tool was upgraded, according to a Branson, Missouri government press release.

BRANSON, Mo., 9/29/2023 – The City of Branson’s Information Technology (IT) Department is making it easier and more efficient for residents and community members to report maintenance issues and concerns of City-maintained facilities and streets. Designed for non-emergencies only, the City has upgraded its Report-An-Issue section on the City’s website, BransonMo.Gov.

The Report-An-Issue tool is designed for residents and community members to address concerns such as potholes, trash, streetlight outages or fallen branches. An important part of the upgrade is the utilization of the mapping technology to better pinpoint the exact location of concern, allowing City staff to monitor and resolve problems more quickly and efficiently.

“We designed this with usability and convenience being top of mind. If, for example, someone notices a pothole, they could go to the Report-An-Issue tool on the website and easily pinpoint the area that needs improvement,” said Geographic Information Systems Manager, Curtis Copeland.

The interactive map component also allows users to see if the issue has been previously reported and, if so, the status of that issue. The tool is also designed to improve communication between City staff and the individual who reported the issue. As an issue’s status changes or when an issue is resolved, the individual is notified of the progress through email.

Additionally, residents can use the Report-An-Issue tool to use an interactive map on a mobile device to report street light outages. Residents can identify the light that is out, find which agency maintains the light, and retrieve the contact information to get the issue resolved if the light isn’t maintained by the City of Branson.

“This is great work by our Geographic Information Systems (GIS) division. They are always looking for ways to improve our services to our community. This redesign is part of our larger goal of increasing transparency and making it easier for citizens and visitors to notify the City of needed improvements,” said Chad Forster, Director of IT for the City of Branson.

The Report-An-Issue feature can be accessed from a desktop computer or a mobile device and can be found on the main page of BransonMo.Gov by clicking on the Feedback & Questions tab.
