Two projects will impact traffic on Cliff Drive beginning Tuesday.
As announced last week by MODOT, the bridge over Highway 65 will be closed for up to three hours on Tuesday as crews will do maintenance work on the bridge. As part of the same project, the Business 65/Highway 76 bridge between Branson and Hollister will also be closed for a few hours.
A long term impact on traffic begins on Wednesday as the City of Branson announces work on Cliff Drive between Hawthorne and Canal Streets for stormwater improvements and bridge replacement work. Cliff Drive will be closed between those streets through May according to the release.
While the Cliff Drive Bridge over Highway 65 will remain open, the street will be closed at Hawthorne Street at the entrance to Alexander Park so motorist wanting to Cliff Drive east of 65 or downtown will have to use the Main Street Bridge over 65. For people east of Highway 65 wanting to access Alexander Park will have to drive through Hiawatha Heights and over the Cliff Drive/65 Bridge.
The city will have detour signs posted for Alexander Park access.
