College of the Ozarks welcomes new faculty members

POINT LOOKOUT, MO. — College of the Ozarks is entering the 2024-2025 academic year with four new faculty members. The College is excited to welcome these members onto campus.

  • Dr. Ryan Douglas will serve as assistant professor of business at College of the Ozarks. Before College of the Ozarks, Douglas worked as a business consultant for Cerner Corporation, and then he worked as an accountant in their finance department. After that, he served as a project accountant for Burns and McDonnell, staff accountant for Ferrellgas Partners, L.P., and an accountant for Mediware Information Systems, now known as WellSky. In higher education, he served as business faculty at Grantham University, now known as University of Arkansas Grantham. Douglas served in a faculty position at Highland Community College. For the past six years, he has served in a faculty position at the University of Mount Olive. Douglas also served as the department chair of accounting and cybersecurity, then as the department chair of economics and finance. Douglas earned his bachelor's degree in accounting at Northwest Missouri State University, and then earned his master’s degree in business administration. He earned his doctorate in business administration from California Southern University. Douglas is married to his wife of 12 years and is raising two young daughters.
  • Dr. A. Chase Sigler will serve as assistant professor of chemistry at College of the Ozarks. Sigler earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry and human and molecular biology at College of the Ozarks in 2017. After graduating, Sigler worked as a high school life sciences teacher. Sigler earned a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry at Missouri University of Science and Technology. While doing so, Sigler got hired as a senior scientist, where he remained before returning to C of O. Sigler is married to his wife, Sierra, who also works in the education field. They have two sons and have parented nine foster kids in the last few years.
  • Dr. Raine Prather will serve as assistant professor of nursing at College of the Ozarks. Prior to coming to the College, Prather served as an active-duty Army nurse specializing in pediatric oncology, nurse manager of rehabilitative services, and didactic and clinical nurse educator of LPNs, ADNs, and RNs. Prather earned his bachelor’s degree at College of the Ozarks. He earned his MSN and DNP at Palm Beach Atlantic University. Prather is married to his wife, Brianna, and has a two-year-old son.
  • Erich Campbell will serve as assistant professor of behavioral science at College of the Ozarks. Campbell opened his own practice, Erich Campbell Counseling and Hypnosis, in Nov. 2023, where he serves as counselor and owner. Prior to that, he guest lectured at Williams Baptist University and interned at White River Health: Adult Psychiatric Unit & Geriatric Unit. After graduating from School of the Ozarks, Campbell earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology and family studies and social services at College of the Ozarks. Campbell then earned his Master of Science in marriage, couple, and family counseling at Harding University. Campbell is married to his wife, Hope, and has a labrador dog named Chief.

    JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) congratulates Riley Isaacs of Bradleyville for becoming the latest state record holder for redear sunfish. The 17-year-old was bowfishing at Lake Taneycomo April 18 when he shot a 2-pound, 3-ounce fish. The previous record under alternative methods was a 2-pound, 2-ounce fish also caught from Lake Taneycomo in 2022.

  • Hollister Schools Foundation donates $4,000 for Therapy Dog

    The Hollister Schools Foundation has presented a $4,000 check to the Hollister R-V School District, funds raised during last spring’s "Coins for a Cause" fundraiser. The generous donation will be used to help purchase two therapy dogs for the district, set to debut at the start of the 2025-2026 school year. The check was presented to Superintendent Dr. Brian Wilson and Assistant Superintendent of District Operations, Dr. Sean Woods, by foundation board members Katie Adams, Ryan Gdovin, and Denise Olmstead.

    BRANSON, MO (April 17, 2025) – In 2025, the Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Drama celebrates 65 years of bringing the historic performance to over 8 million attendees. This milestone marks the show as the oldest outdoor drama in the state of Missouri, as well as maintaining its title as the original show in Branson.
