Although the Lakes Region have been mostly dry and hot over the last two weeks, drought development has been mostly held at bay.
With the exception of the far western sections of the area in parts of Barry and Carroll Counties that are at the low/Abnormally Dry Drought Level, the remainder Lakes Region is not at any area of drought. The heavy rains that pelted the region on July 17 have replenished the water supply.
Except for some scattered showers that moved through the region on Thursday, no rain is in the forecast through the middle of next week.
