The Precautionary Boil Water Order has been lifted for the area impacted by the Water Main Break that took place Thursday in the area of construction for the Branson Downtown Streetscape Project.
According to a release from the City late Friday night. the order was sifted following the completion of water quality testing after water service was restored. The interruption was due to a water main being damaged during the construction at Main and Sycamore Streets as part of the project to update Main Street with a new pavement and updated infrastructure. The Taney County Health Department coordinated the water testing according to the city release.
According to an Ozarks First, several businesses were closed on Friday while the Boil Advisory was in effect.
Meanwhile, the company doing the construction on the project, Emery Sapp & Sons of Springfield, issued a statement Friday afternoon saying they are investigating the events leading up to the water main break and cooperating fully with area officials.
Their official statement as posted by Ozarks First is below:
“First and foremost, our thoughts are with the injured employees and their families, and with everyone affected by this incident,” the statement said.
“An investigation is underway, and we are cooperating fully with the appropriate agencies,” the statement continued. “Our immediate priority is the well‑being of our employees and their families. As we gather and review the facts, we will share updates as appropriate.”
Several media outlets have reached out to both the City of Branson and Emery Sapp & Sons for further updates on the injured workers and for further details on the incident but have received no further information outside of the city's announcement of the Boil Advisory ending and the statement released from ESS&S as of Saturday morning.
