Felony Charges Dropped Against Captain, Supervisors in Duck Boat Sinking

Felony Charges have been dismissed against three individuals in connection with the 2018 Duck Boat Sinking on Table Rock Lake that killed 18 people.

According to a report from Ozarks First, 39th Judicial Circuit Court Judge Johnnie Cox issued the ruling this week, saying there was no probable cause to charge Captain Kenneth McKee and supervisors, Curtis Lanham and Charles Baltzell in the case.

The Missouri Attorney General’s Office had refiled the charges in 2022 after a judge had previously dismissed the charges against the men earlier.

A Ride the Ducks Boat capsized and sank during a severe weather event on July 19 of 2018 with 31 people on board.
