In a Facebook Post, Branson Fire Chief Ted Martin reminds residents of the importance of smoke alarms in the home.
Martin’s post was in part a shared message from Cakes and Creams 50’s Diner Owner John Moore, who shared information about an electric scooter that was stored at the restaurant’s storage on W. 76 County Music Blvd. that blew up and caused a fire Monday morning. Moore said that they knew of the fire due to the detection system present in the building. Moore added that the damage to the building was minor.
Martin added that this is a good example of why working smoke detectors are important in businesses and homes and with this weekend being the time to turn the clocks back, it is a good time to check the batteries in those detectors.
