The Western Taney County Fire Protection District along with Branson Firefighters battle a blaze Friday night.
The release below is from the Western Taney County Fire Department Facebook Page:
At 8:20 PM, five Western Taney County Fire stations were dispatched to 160 Northwood Trail, off Highway T, with a Branson address. Upon arrival, fire was showing through the roof and the back window from the modular home. The initial crew went through the front door and started extinguishing fire and pulling ceiling. As additional stations arrived, they pulled a second line and started pulling more ceiling to extinguish the fire. As the fire continued to spread in the attic, a second alarm was requested. The second alarm brought an additional four stations from the Western Taney County Fire District and a mutual aid engine from the City of Branson. This is a non-hydrated area and tankers had to be used to haul water from approximately 3 1/2 miles away. The residents that were at home both had smoke inhalation and were transported to the hospital. An additional resident that was not home at the time of the fire, had chest pain and was also transported to the hospital. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but it appears to have started in that back bedroom where the fire was venting out of the window. The Red Cross was contacted to assist the residents. All units cleared the scene around 11:30 PM.
