A person is dead, and another seriously injured in the first reported fatality traffic crash in Arkansas for 2024.
According to the report by the Arkansas State Police, the crash took place in Marion County east of Yellville just before Noon Tuesday when a vehicle driven by 39-year-old Nelson Honeycut of Cozahome crossed the centerline on Highway 62/412 and hit a vehicle driven by 67-year-old Fredrick Ridge of Malvern.
Honeycut was pronounced dead at the scene while Ridge was taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for treatment of serious injuries.
