The Downtown Branson Streetscape Project hits another milestone as the west section of Main Street reopens to traffic Tuesday afternoon.
The section between Veterans Blvd and Commercial Street closed to traffic in April for the repaving of the road, installation of new infrastructure, and the updating of sidewalks.
In a release, the city says that the next part of the project, the east section of Main Street from Commercial Street to Sycamore Street, will begin later this week and will continue through the middle of October.
Part of this phase of the project also included the makeover of the intersection of Commercial and Main Street which was completed last week.
Radio Stations Branson 4U 98.1, MY 100.1, and Legends 1063 will host a Live Radio Party at Dick's Five and Ten Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 11:30 to celebrate the street opening.

We’ve reached a major milestone in the Downtown Streetscape Project — Phase 1 West Main Street is now OPEN to vehicles and pedestrian traffic!
This marks the halfway point in our work on Phase 4 of the project, and we couldn’t be more excited about the progress. Thank you to our community for your continued patience and support as we bring new life to the heart of Downtown Branson.
Phase 1 was completed on schedule and on budget, with work taking place after Spring Break from April 7 through June 16—just as promised. Huge thanks to our contractor, Emery Sapp & Sons, for delivering high-quality work and helping us achieve our deadlines.
Up next: Phase 2 begins later this week as we continue moving full speed ahead, with construction running from June 17 through October 15. The team is staying on track and chasing the finish line with momentum! Final details like seating areas, lighting, handrails, and a new downtown gateway will continue to be added throughout the project.
Stay tuned for updates as construction continues!
