The first alert has been issued for the potential for Winter Weather later this week.
The National Weather Service Offices in Little Rock and Tulsa have issued a Winter Storm Watch that begins Friday afternoon for northwest Arkansas and Friday evening for north central Arkansas. Current forecasts call for a possible four inches of snow in that region in addition to extremely cold air with gusty winds.
The National Weather Service office in Springfield has yet to issue any winter weather alerts for the Missouri Ozarks with most forecast models currently calling for snow to begin early Saturday morning.
