The next round of rain coming through the Ozarks could pose a possible flooding threat for parts of the Lakes Region.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch which covers most of Table Rock and Beaver Lakes from early Thursday morning through midday. The potential for two to four inches of rain with isolated pockets of seven inches of precipitation is possible in the watch area which covers extreme southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas. Lakes Region Counties included in the watch include Barry and Stone in Missouri along with Carroll and Madison Counties in Arkansas.
UPDATE 8/28: The Flood Watch is extended to the Harrison Area including Boone, Marion, Newton, and Searcy Counties for Thursday.
Rainfall amounts tapper off to the north and east of the watch area but both the Branson and Harrison areas could see two to three inches of rain during the day. The rain will bring the coolest day since the spring with highs only in the upper 60s before rebounding to the 70s on Friday.
Current forecast indicate most of the Labor Day Weekend will be dry with highs in the 80s.
