Frost and Freeze Arrives, Fire Hazard Continues

Temperatures Wednesday morning dipped below the freezing mark in some parts of the Lakes Region as the first frost and freeze settles into the area. 

Frost Advisories and Freeze Warnings were in effect until mid-morning for the Lakes Region. Temperatures will slowly move up over the next few days with some areas possibly seeing another round of frost and freezing temperatures early Thursday morning before temperatures return to seasonal norms by the end of the week. 

While the Lakes Region is seeing its first frost and freezing conditions of the season, one thing that has continued through the weather changes is the risk of wildfires spreading. 

The National Weather Service has issued a statement saying the area will be at an elevated fire risk both Thursday and Friday with dry conditions and gusty winds making the controlling of fires difficult. Many agencies and organizations have issued burn bans with the dry conditions expected to continue through the upcoming weekend.
