Full Beaver Supermoon to illuminate the Ozarks soon

Beautiful fall conditions this week will also come with bright fall nights. The full Beaver Moon will peak Nov. 5, and as an added treat, it will also be a supermoon.

The term supermoon is given when the moon is at its closest position in its orbit relative to the Earth. This is called perigee, and this month the moon will be only 221,817 miles, or 17,038 miles closer than average. The moon at this time will appear about 7% larger and 15% brighter than average.

This is the second of three supermoons this year, with the next occurring in December.
