An organization with its origin in the Lakes Region continues to help with water quality projects across the region.
H2Ozarks, based in Kimberling City with an Arkansas office in Rogers, has worked on projects to ensure and promote clean water in the upper White River Watersheds including their Septic Remediation Program, which according to the organization's website, offers technical and financial resources to homeowners to repair or replace failing septic systems. In Arkansas, the program covers the Beaver Reservoir Watershed and the Buffalo River Watershed.
Recently, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced two projects for H2Ozarks are among the projects getting financial assistance from the state through the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission.
Both projects are in the Beaver Reservoir Watershed. One is in Benton County with H2Ozarks receiving a $250,000 loan with principal forgiveness from the Clean Water State Revolving Loan Fund with the money to be used for a septic tank remediation program. The other is in Washington County and is a $64,700 grant from the Water Development Fund. with this money tol cover administrative costs for the Septic Tank Remediation Program.
