Heavy Rain Anticipated Sunday in the Lakes Region

After a warm and wind Saturday, unsettled weather is expected in the Lakes Region on Sunday.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch in effect for all of the Arkansas and Missouri Lakes Region from early Sunday morning into Monday morning. Forecasters predict around two to three inches of rain in most of the region with some isolated areas of four to six inches possible over Beaver Lake and the western sections of Table Rock Lake.

Although heavy rain is the primary threat with these storms, forecasters do say there is a marginal risk of severe thunderstorms on Sunday with high winds and hail being the primary threats along with the heavy rainfall.

Rain will eventually move out of the area on Monday with cooler temperatures ranging from the 60s for highs to overnight lows in the 40s.
