The Historic Downtown Branson Community Improvement District Board is going to take some more time to look at its future before asking the city to renew its existence for another 20 years.
At Tuesday night's Branson Board of Aldermen Meeting, City Attorney Solon McGee presented Aldermen with a request from the board to withdraw their request to renew the CID for another 20 years when their current term expires in April of next year. The request comes after discussions between the CID Board and city officials on possibly expanding the scope of the CID and look at other priorities downtown besides their outlined focus on transportation.
McGee said the CID does plan to have a meeting with business owners downtown to get input on what they would like to see in the future as the negotiations with City on possibly revising the current charter continues.
The board did vote to indefinitely postpone the final reading of the bill pending these discussions.
The discussion along with the rest of the business of Tuesday's meeting can be found on the City of Branson Website.
