Hollister Asks for Donors to Help Power up Christmas Lights

Believe it or not, Christmas is already on the minds of some people.

Hollister, Missouri is looking for people to donate to the city to help "keep the lighting tradition strong in Hollister," according to a post on the Hollister government Facebook Page. The full post is available below.

"One of the memories many of us have from Christmas is driving around to see the light displays. With Christmas carols on the radio, the anticipation of which home would be the best decorated or visiting a local park to walk through the winter wonderland, light displays are a part of the Christmas traditions for many families. Hollister is a destination for viewing lights, whether part of the Branson Scenic Railway’s Polar Express, or an evening stroll after dinner; our joy for Christmas is shared through our decorations.

We are currently seeking donors to help us keep the lighting tradition strong in Hollister. If you are interested in donating to our campaign, please send checks to City Hall, PO Box 638, Hollister, MO 65673, Attn: Christmas Donation Campaign. You may also stop by City Hall to pay in person with cash, check, or credit card. For questions or further details, please contact Denise at dolmstead@hollistermo.gov or at City Hall, 417-337-8315."

  • Hollister Schools Foundation donates $4,000 for Therapy Dog

    The Hollister Schools Foundation has presented a $4,000 check to the Hollister R-V School District, funds raised during last spring’s "Coins for a Cause" fundraiser. The generous donation will be used to help purchase two therapy dogs for the district, set to debut at the start of the 2025-2026 school year. The check was presented to Superintendent Dr. Brian Wilson and Assistant Superintendent of District Operations, Dr. Sean Woods, by foundation board members Katie Adams, Ryan Gdovin, and Denise Olmstead.
