Information Gathering Continues for New TRL Chamber Economic Development Director

The recently hired Economic Development Director for the Table Rock Lake Chamber of Commerce has listened a lot in his first few weeks on the job.

During an interview on KRZK's "Ozarks Now" program, Kyle Cook talked about how he has been talking to several people in the region during his first days on the job which will include coordinating the "Launch Stone County" Economic Development initiative. 

President/CEO of the Chamber Sheila Thomas added during the "Ozarks Now" segment that Cook's background with construction projects was a factor in bringing Cook on with one of the top priorities being more housing. Thomas says one of Cook's early project is developing a housing study for Stone County. 

The "Launch Stone County" Initiative is designed to come up with a long range plan with four components: Business Retention, Expansion, and Recruitment, Workforce Development including Housing, Effective Tourism Marketing, and Community Development.

    The Hollister Schools Foundation has presented a $4,000 check to the Hollister R-V School District, funds raised during last spring’s "Coins for a Cause" fundraiser. The generous donation will be used to help purchase two therapy dogs for the district, set to debut at the start of the 2025-2026 school year. The check was presented to Superintendent Dr. Brian Wilson and Assistant Superintendent of District Operations, Dr. Sean Woods, by foundation board members Katie Adams, Ryan Gdovin, and Denise Olmstead.
