The Forsyth School District is seeing plenty of expansion as the Superintendent plans to retire at the end of the school year.

Dr. Jeff Mingus, during a recent visit to KRZK's "Ozarks Now" program, talked about the ongoing construction of a new building that will house an Early Childhood Development Center as well as an Indoor Athletic Complex that can be used for both school and community teams. Mingus echoed the thoughts of many area school officials about the need to step up to fill the void of available childcare plus the opportunity to get future students their first experience in the district which led to the Early Childhood Center Development. Mingus says the new facilities are on track to be open during the second semester of the school year in January.

Mingus also reflected on his years with the district, six years as Assistant Superintendent followed by 12 years in the top spot. Mingus mentions the turfing of the Baseball Field as well as the addition of the Football Program and Field and the building of the Performing Arts Center and FEMA Storm Shelter are among the highlights during his tenure.
