The Kirbyville school district will find itself with a new leader on July 1, 2026.
Dr. Carless Osbourn announced he will be stepping down as District Superintendent at the end of July 2026, having served his entire educational career in the Kirbyville R-VI School District.
“I’m retiring at the end of my contract on June 30,” Osbourn told Branson Tri-Lakes News. “The new superintendent, his contract starts July 1. I’ve already been in contact so we can have a smooth transition. You know, it’s not about me, it’s not about him, it’s about the district and the students. I want to be able to go out and I want him to come in. I don’t want anyone to overshadow, but I want to work with him to prepare him the best because my kids will still go to school there and I still live and pay taxes in the community.”
