An event in June will help emergency personnel in a Lakes Region city.
The Charitable Fund of the Lake Taneycomo Elks Club #2597 will host a fundraising event next Saturday June 7 at the Lodge on Highway 160 West.
During an interview on KRZK's Ozarks Now Program, Eugene Thomas representing the Elks Club said they picked the Forsyth Fire and Police Departments as they benefactors for their first event because of the efforts they have put in to keep the community safe. Thomas said the goal of the event is to raise $10,000.
Fire Chief Nathan Bower said during the interview that their biggest need for the money raised during the event is to have updated protective equipment for each firefighter while Police Chief Pat Gray said they will be looking to spend their funds supplying and updating office equipment including computers.
The deadline for tickets to this event is today with more information on the event available on the Lake Taneycomo Elks Club #2597 Facebook Page.
