Lawsuits have been filed against a massage business and its manager related to incidents that occurred in 2022.
Two women have filed separate lawsuits in Taney County Circuit Court alleging in October 2022 that they were touched inappropriately during massages at Orchid Massage at Branson Landing. Orchid Massage and its manager were named as defendants.
Both petitions state that the massages were performed by former employee Yang Li, who allegedly continued to touch the plaintiffs inappropriately despite their objections. The lawsuits claim Orchid Massage and Qu were responsible for hiring and supervising Li and failed to prevent Li from continuing to provide services. The filling also states that Li was neither licensed nor authorized to practice massage therapy in Missouri.
Previous reporting by Ozarks Dynacom News and the Branson Tri-Lakes News indicates Li was charged with two counts of second-degree sodomy in a case in October of 2022, but the fillings does not indicate if this case is related to the lawsuits. In December, Li was sentenced to 10-years in prison for the sodomy case.
The suits assert negligence per se and seek unspecified damages, including costs and other relief. The plaintiffs claim they suffered physical pain, emotional distress, humiliation, and post‑traumatic stress disorder.
As part of their report on the lawsuits, Ozarks First requested comment from Orchid Massage LLC, but the business declined.
