Sheriff Roy Martin reports that deputies from the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, along with Arkansas State Police, responded to a call regarding a man on the Twin Bridges on Highway 65 North near Omaha. Upon arrival, officers encountered a 20‑year‑old man who was experiencing a mental‑health crisis and expressing suicidal intent.

As officers attempted to speak with and assist the individual, he suddenly ran toward the retaining wall and went over the edge, resulting in a fatal fall. Sheriff Martin stated that this was a tragic loss of life and expressed condolences to the family and all those affected.

Sheriff Martin emphasized the importance of seeking help when experiencing emotional distress, mental‑health challenges, or thoughts of self‑harm. “No one has to face these struggles alone,” he said. “There are people and resources available at any hour to provide support.”
