Add Missouri to the list of states that will look at redrawing Congressional Districts.
Governor Mike Kehoe says he is calling legislators back to Jefferson City on Wednesday to consider two items, one is which is a proposal to revise the maps that outlines the U.S. House Districts for the states. The other items is proposed revisions to the Initiative Petition Process which includes eliminating outside influences and that each congressional district passes a measure, not just a total majority around the state.
The redrawing of the congressional districts are getting the most attention as two states, California and Texas, recently passed new congressional maps and several other states are considering changes ahead of the midterm elections in 2026.
Two Lakes Area State Legislators, 33rd District State Senator Brad Hudson and 156th State Representative Brian Seitz, both Republican, said in recent interviews by the Branson Tri-Lakes News that they are in favor of the redistricting efforts.
