MISSOURI – The November portion of Missouri’s firearms deer season opens Saturday morning, and there are some new rules for hunters after they kill a deer.
The 10-day season runs from Saturday, Nov. 15 to Tuesday, Nov. 25. There are some things hunters need to know when it comes to moving a deer.
Disposing of deer parts
An old rule has been lifted that said hunters cannot transport “high-risk” deer parts like the brain or spinal cord from one county to another. Now, hunters are required to dispose of deer parts somewhere that will end up in a sanitary landfill, or dispose of them on the property where the deer was killed.
