MODOT Holds Public Meeting Ahead of Roundabout Construction Beginning Near Reeds Spring

The Missouri Department of Transportation will host a Public Meeting this week to visit with the public about travel impacts on an upcoming project.

The Public Meeting about the upcoming construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Highway 13/160 with Highway 248 and Dogwood Tree Road takes place Thursday afternoon at the Reeds Spring High School District Learning Center from 4:30 to 6:00. 

According to a release from MODOT, the come-and-go style public meeting will discuss the traffic impacts during construction and project information from MODOT Officials. 

Construction on the roundabout is scheduled to start next week on the $2.1 million project at the intersection that sees around 12,000 vehicles per day.

Reeds Spring, Stone County – Those interested in the U.S. Route 160, Missouri Route 13 and Missouri Route 248 Roundabout Project in Reeds Spring are invited to a public meeting to discuss the traffic impacts during construction and project information on Thursday, January 23, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

The come-and-go style meeting will be held 4:30 – 6 p.m., Thursday, January 23, at the Reeds Spring High School District Learning Center 20277 MO-413, Reeds Spring. No formal presentation is planned. Those who attend may come at any time between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to learn about the project and ask questions.

Those unable to attend the in-person meeting can view exhibits and get project information by visiting www.modot.org/southwest.

For those unable to access the online meeting, contact MoDOT’s Southwest District Office at 417.895.7600 and accommodations will be made to share the information and gather feedback.

Project highlights:

Build roundabout at U.S. Route 160, Missouri Route 13, Missouri Route 248 & Dogwood Tree Road north of Reeds Spring to improve safety and traffic flow
Approximately 12,000 vehicles per day use the intersection
Traffic impacts during construction:

Traffic impacts will be discussed such as staged construction to allow for all movements through the intersection during all phases
Electronic message boards and news releases will notify the public of traffic impacts
Drivers urged to use alternate routes during construction to avoid the work zone
Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2025.

The estimated project cost is $2.1 million.
