
BRANSON, MO (May 16, 2025) – The Branson Board of Education approved the hiring of a new principal for Buchanan Elementary during May’s Board Meeting.
Dr. Tim Butler will step into the role during the 2025-2026 school year. Butler will succeed Dr. April Hawkins who will move into the new Director of Human Resources position.
Butler is currently serving as Assistant Principal for Branson Junior High. He has been with the district since 2013, and has served as Assistant Principal since 2016. Butler received his undergraduate degree from College of the Ozarks, and both his master’s degree and a doctorate in Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction from Evangel University. In 2024, Butler was named Assistant Principal of the Year by the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals (MoASSP).
Tim and his wife Stephanie, have two sons who attend Branson Schools.
“I am honored and excited to begin this new chapter as Principal of Buchanan Elementary,” shared Butler.
“I look forward to connecting with our youngest learners and their families, and to help guide them at such an important stage in their educational journey.”
Butler will begin his new duties July 1, 2025.
