A post on the Nixa government Facebook Page details the Nixa Utilities Department ability to help with heating homes by partaking in a state program; the post is below.
"To help with the cost of heating your home for winter, Nixa Utilities participates in the statewide LIHEAP program through which low-income households can subsidize their electric charges. Assistance is available through May 2023, with funds up to $1,600 available. Learn more here: https://mydss.mo.gov/utility-assistance/liheap
Nixa Utilities also participates in the LIHWAP, which assists in the cost of water/sewer charges. Learn more here: https://mydss.mo.gov/utility-assistance/lihwap
Both of these programs are administered locally through OACAC. If you have questions, you may call OACAC at (417) 864-3460."
