NIXA, Mo. — Nixa City Council voted to change part of its employee policy to include a ban on consuming recreational marijuana.
“I know a lot of large corporations still have zero-tolerance policies and I view government entities as larger corporations in a sense,” Councilman Shawn Lucas said during the Monday night city council meeting.
That zero-tolerance policy means council members can not use marijuana even off the clock.

POINT LOOKOUT, MO. — On Dec. 10-11, The College of the Ozarks Jones Theatre Department performed a preshow act for “PraiseFest Branson Christmas JOY!” in Branson, Missouri. PraiseFest is a series of uplifting Christian music and worship events held at The Mansion Theatre throughout 2025. The Christmas edition was a holiday event featuring David Phelps, The Collingsworth Family, and the original Jubilee Christmas cast.
