Nixa to Host Mayor’s Tree Lighting Ceremony and Community Cocoa Night on Dec. 5

The Nixa Parks and Recreation Department is inviting residents to kick off the holiday season with the annual Mayor’s Tree Lighting Ceremony and Cocoa with the Community, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page.

The free community event will happen Dec. 5, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at McCauley Park. It offer a variety of family-friendly activities, including ice skating, cocoa and cookies, visits with Santa for holiday photos, performances featuring local Nixa youth, and a Walmart giveaway station providing extra holiday cheer.

Organizers encourage residents to bring friends, family, and neighbors to enjoy the tree lighting and celebrate the start of the season together.
