Information Release:
Today, December 2nd, Sarah Mills of Nixa, Missouri, was arrested for money laundering, conspiracy, and two counts of felony stealing.
Throughout 2024 and 2025, Mills coordinated with other criminal actors online, targeting elderly victims to facilitate the theft of tens of thousands of dollars via a celebrity impersonation scam.
The Nixa Police Criminal Investigations Division coordinated with multiple agencies across four states, tracking funds collected by Mills, which were subsequently converted to cryptocurrency.
These types of cases are very complex, and our detectives, along with cooperating agencies across the country, have worked diligently to seek justice for the victims of these crimes. The Nixa Police Department appreciates the work our partner agencies did in this investigation.
