Convicted abuser Pete Newman will remain behind bars serving two life sentences for sexually abusing children while employed at Kanakuk Kamp.
Newman has been in prison for 14 years after getting convicted of the charges of abusing children while working as a counselor at the camp based in Branson.
According to the Ozarks First report, several of the victims and their families wrote letters to the court asking the parole board to deny Newman’s request. Newman’s next opportunity at parole will be in 2029.
