After working since early Monday morning, electric crews are close to having power restored after weekend thunderstorms caused thousands to lose power.
White River Valley Electric reports this morning that 177 customers still are without power with 149 of those in Taney County. Many of the outages remaining in Taney County are around the Merriam Woods/Rockaway Beach/Walnut Shade areas as well as around Kissee Mills. A few customers also remain without power in Christian and Stone Counties while Entergy in Arkansas report just a handful of outages remain.
As power-crews wrap-up restoring power, the temperature continues to warm up with Heat Advisories once again in effect for all of the Lakes Region with temperatures expected around 100 and Heat Index readings possibly getting as high as 110.
