Registration open for Youth Baseball and Softball leagues

Registration is now open for the Branson Parks & Recreation Department’s Youth Baseball, Softball and Tiny Tot T-Ball leagues.

Youth baseball leagues are available for boys 5 to 12-years old and youth softball leagues are available for girls 5 to 12-years old. Practices begin on March 28, 2022, with games beginning the week of April 25, 2022. Individual and team entries are accepted. The deadline to register for all youth leagues is Tuesday, March 22, 2022.

Beginning this season, the introductory Tiny Tot T-Ball program will be run by Branson Parks & Recreation staff members. Staff will facilitate fun drills and games to introduce social and motor skill development. The program is offered for children who are 3 to 4-years old. Participants can register for one of two programs, the Tuesday or Thursday night program. Tiny Tot teams will have two practices followed by six weeks of scrimmage games. Practices will begin the week of April 12 and games will begin the week of April 26. The deadline to register for the Tiny Tot T-Ball Program is Thursday, March 31, 2022.

The previous record under alternative methods was a 2-pound, 2-ounce fish also caught from Lake Taneycomo in 2022.

  • Hollister Schools Foundation donates $4,000 for Therapy Dog

    The Hollister Schools Foundation has presented a $4,000 check to the Hollister R-V School District, funds raised during last spring’s "Coins for a Cause" fundraiser. The generous donation will be used to help purchase two therapy dogs for the district, set to debut at the start of the 2025-2026 school year. The check was presented to Superintendent Dr. Brian Wilson and Assistant Superintendent of District Operations, Dr. Sean Woods, by foundation board members Katie Adams, Ryan Gdovin, and Denise Olmstead.
