Prior to the snow beginning on Friday, several area fire departments battled a chimney fire.
The release below is from the Oak Grove Fire and Rescue Facebook Page:
At 3:20 Friday afternoon, Oak Grove Fire & Rescue was dispatched to a report of a chimney fire off Hwy 311 . While responding smoke was visible, at that point second alarm was asked for adding Green Forest Fire, to the assignment. Once on scene first engine reported heavy fire and smoke showing. At this time a third alarm was asked for adding Southern Stone County Fire. Crews established water supply at Enon boat ramp. The tankers hauled approximately 50,000 gallons of water to the fire. Fire fighters battled high winds and freezing temperatures, this causing hoses, nozzles and apparatus to freeze up. This also caused the roads to start icing over from hauling water. Big thank you to Carroll County Road dept for salting the area for us. Everyone made it out of the house safe. Thanks to the following agencies for assisting;
Green Forest FD
SSCFPD
Southern EMS
Carroll County Road Dept.
Carroll County 911 Dispatch
